What is Academic English?

Academic English courses prepare you for study at a British university. The focus is practical: writing essays that meet UK academic standards, reading journal articles without a dictionary, and following fast-paced lectures where nobody slows down for you.

About Academic English

Most programmes run 4 to 12 weeks and cover critical thinking, referencing conventions, and seminar participation. Some schools offer direct pathway agreements with partner universities — pass the course and skip the IELTS requirement entirely.

Class sizes tend to be small, usually 8 to 12 students, and everyone in the room has the same goal: getting ready for a degree programme. If your university offer is conditional on English proficiency, this is the course designed to get you there.
